Dee
O Canada! O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free! From far and wide, O Canada, We stand on guard for thee. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. (French) O Canada! Quote Link to comment

Goose Liver
Thanks Mare, a lot of people are very happy about the Olympics... I am not sooooo much.. it's going to cost us a fortune...we have a failing health and education system, lots of starving people, no housing for low income and we are going to spend millions on this....sorry not usually a downer about things. I can see my property taxes going up too. Quote Link to comment

Guest Guest
Brigid, we had all of the same concerns here, and I was totally against having the Olympics here, but mostly because I feared the damage that 10's of 1000's of people tramping over our fragile mountains would do to them. We went through 5 years of real inconvenience while our freeway system was totally overhauled, but the end result makes getting around the valley alot easier. The Olympic events were mostly held at existing venues, and the new venues that were built were in the city. As the Olympics drew near, one couldn't help but get caught up in the excitement, and it was truly a memorable 2 weeks. Quote Link to comment
