Snowmom
**********Here are some things that count for miles. These are as you can count them, 1 mile will = one mile. Biking, swimming, walking, and such. *********These will be counted as 1 hour = one mile********* will be down and up 10 times = one mile ********These will be counted as 30 minutes = one mile weights, jumping rope. ********You will have to be the judge of these. We have been counting 1 hour as a mile, but, sometimes it isn't so. Therefore, I'm letting you be the judge of these. ************For the week of February 8 - 14, I am saying a total of 47 ¾ miles on the treadmill and bike and the fit bit said I walked 24.8 miles. This makes a nice total, 72. 55 miles, WOW that is a lot of miles. I am only 1 pound less than when I started using the fit bit in October, I lose and then gain, lose and gain, it is like a yo yo with my weight. Of course, I haven't been doing any diet, I mostly eat what I want to. ********* Ok, who will be ???***** Quote Link to comment
sassenach
I saw this post and just laughed..... I will just say some days I am bouncing as I walk around my little home. I feel more energy. Its not safe to go for walks at the temps outside right now. But am glad to report I am starting to feel a bit more agile. My balance is coming back and flexibility is good. Icy conditions on sidewalks have been like early spring until the latest onslaught of snow, as melt pools in low spots on the sidewalks here even if they were plowed steadily, the temps of the surfaces get warm enough for that to happen so its really dicey to take regular walks when it is like that. I do not like to add to my risk of falls. Those hurt too much these days. So I only go out if I have to, and the windchills were so bad the past two days I did none of that because it can sear the lungs as well as frostbite ya. Take care everyone. Diet continues to be good, so I will rely on that for now. Blood sugar levels are good and steady in normal ranges, if anything have adjusted down so far that have to watch more carefully for lows now , so studying that each day. ( Also severe cold can make those happen with me and I am too cold to realize it or even prick my finger to test if I thought of it for some time), so I have to be cautious about that. It got down to minus 68F here Sunday nite, as an example. That is extremely dangerous, daytime minus 30s the past two days. Windchills. So diet and house work, lol. It's not much. I would like to be steady walking outside considering how good I am feeling. Oh well, another several weeks of this and then I can, before it gets really hot and humid again. Was wishing for an early spring, but who knows with all this happening now. So, several weeks at this latitude. If I keep the blood sugar at normal levels six days out of seven, I am losing weight. Not sure why it works that way, but it is and I am grateful. But I sure would like to body tone. Edited February 17, 2015 by sassenach Quote Link to comment
Momo
Wow...Snow is really going! Sassenach I am not losing much weight lately but my sugar is much improved. I have to be very careful not to fall too. Dh has health issues of his own and I cannot depend on him to help me if I get hurt. I hope to lose enough weight where I can safely take on more exercise and eventually zip past Snows miles...lol Quote Link to comment
sassenach
Hopefully in a few more weeks it will start warming up around here at least. Then a few more weeks and we should be clear. I hate sitting still so long. I do have some hand weights and it wouldn't hurt to use them now, lol. Guess I better dust them off.... Quote Link to comment
Annarchy
I don't think I could zip past Snowmom, she amazes me. I walked 14.29 miles. Still trying, not loosing any weight, in fact, I gained 5 lbs. that week. Quote Link to comment
