Jeepers
I was pulling into my driveway and my next door neighbor (the 30 yr.old son) threw his hand up over his head and waved at me like I was his best friend in the whole world. This is the one that has had an ongoing feud with me for YEARS. I even had a order of protection against the father and son a couple of years back. Crimony, really threw me for a loop. Wonder what's up now? I prefer it when we ignore each other. I did give a short wave back. I sort of did it before I knew what I was doing. If I come up missing... Quote Link to comment
dogmom4
I don't know why but your 'If I come up missing...' comment tickled my funny bone...can't stop laughing. But really....don't come up missing...... Quote Link to comment
The WE2's
Sometime ignoramous's do things like just to harrass and get you thinking just what you're thinking. Next time? Shrug your shoulders and walk the other way? Quote Link to comment
Mt_Rider
Yeah, what Dogmom said. And do NOT come up missing! Kinda reminded me of Sound of Music....where the guy who set them up to sing at the festival [and then escape] does a half Hitler salute cuz it was expected ...then kinda turned it into scratching his chin or something. Wonder if he's gone short-sighted and thot you were someone else??????? Weird, for sure! MtRider Quote Link to comment
sassenach
Yeah, don't come up missing! Don't get sucked in! It's better to be safe than sorry later. Quote Link to comment
Annarchy
One of our neighbor ladies used to snub me. One day she waved at me. Yeah, shock was my reaction too. The day she walked up and talked to me was even more shocking. Especially after 30 years of silence. Hope he was just having a good day and wanting to share his happiness. Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
I'm still here. Of course I haven't been out yet today. He knew it was me. I'm the only one in the neighborhood with a blue Jeep Liberty. When I'm outside (out of the car) I always either keep my head down or turned. I never make eye contact. He sort of had me because I was in the car turning into the driveway facing him. When he waved I really looked. Caught me off guard. After knowing them 25 years, I know it wasn't a 'getting to know you' wave. That ship sailed a loooong time ago. There are 3 of them that live there. The mom would be okay if it weren't for the men there. The son is about 30 years old and has never 'left the nest'. He has no friends that come over and has never had a girl over. The dad is vile and crude. Unfortunately the son does what the dad does. If the dad wasn't there everyone would tolerate each other. They have a daughter that is nice. She left right after high school. The dad is VERY immature. He works as a mechanic at the post office. So I always have the thought of "going postal" in the back of my mind and don't engage.
